About The Event

Deciding which challenge to tackle first was, for us, very simple. For many years, we have been burdened with the challenge of the “Single Parent Family.” We encounter single parent families every day in our camp ministry, and we understand that you do in your churches as well. The number of these families is growing and churches are faced with real questions as to how to effectively reach them and minister effectively to them. Our goal then, is to work collectively and find biblical truths and effective ways to minister those truths to the end that these families are reached, loved, heartened to serve and vibrantly growing in the Body of Christ.

Before you come to this conference, I want you to have an understanding of its format. It will be different than most others you have attended in a couple of ways. First of all, you will not find any “experts” speaking. That is not because we stand against experts, but we were not able to find anyone willing to admit their expertise on this topic. (I am sure that there are some out there. I just know it!) So, in lieu of experts, we have divided the topic into six segments and asked six pastors to study their segment intently and present their Scriptural findings as well as what they have learned directly from the single parent families in their own ministries. Secondly, YOU, as an attendee, will play a significant role as well. We will have “roundtable” discussions in which we (everyone in attendance) will have a chance to deliberate on the information brought forth by the speakers, pose a question for the group or add other relevant information.

So, we need you, Pastor, to attend. Please bring along other pastors, elders, deacons or leaders in your ministry that you believe would benefit from this conference! We need each one to come, fellowship, encourage, and share ideas that will help all of us learn to minister to the family more effectively. I am excited to see how this conference will impact our own ability to minister as a camp to these families. It is my prayer and goal that single parents would be cheering us on as we all work together to gain the biblical wisdom and skill needed to assist and encourage them as they walk with Christ and strive to rear children who follow Him with their lives as well.
