Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic we have operated with a couple of guiding principles.  First, we will move forward as the Lord leads and continue to make plans for our programs until He makes it plain that we cannot.  Secondly, when we are allowed to move forward with our programs we will do so only as we are able to keep the safety and health of our guests and staff our top priority.

 

As more information becomes available regarding reopening, there are still many questions yet to be answered.  But we are making plans to proceed with our summer camps, and we want to share those plans with you.  We cannot describe how eager we are to serve you again when the situation allows us to do so safely. 

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Will The Anchorage have to change the camp schedule this summer?

A: Yes.  Based on what we know about phased reopening in NC, we have had to cancel the first two weeks of camp (June 15-10 & June 22-27).  We plan to open camp with "Junior Week 2" on June 29th.  We intend to continue on with our regular schedule after that. Our last week of camp will be August 3-8, 2020.

 

Q: Has anyone at camp been diagnosed with COVID-19?

A: No.  We are very thankful that to our knowledge, no one on our staff or any of our guests or volunteers have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

 

Q: What should I do if I signed up for one of the cancelled weeks?

A: There are several options…

  1. You can move your reservation to another week that has availability.

  2. You can transfer your registration to Summer 2021.

  3. You can request a full refund.  If, perhaps, you would be willing to leave your deposit with us as a tax-deductible donation, we would greatly appreciate that gift during this trying time. 

 

Q:  Are there any additional steps to registration in light of the pandemic?

A: Yes.  There will be an additional waiver for both campers & adults who attend camp this summer.  If you have already completed your registration, we will contact you regarding this additional document.

 

Q: What precautions are you taking to help prevent the spread of COVID-19?

A: We are taking precautions under the guidance of our local health department and other related agencies and initiating preventative measures that will promote a healthy and safe camp environment.
